Exhaust MOT problems....

Postby CAR133N » Tue Mar 27, 2012 1:19 pm

Hi guys,

My MOT is due shortly and will probably fail on omissions due to the car being decatted! I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for an aftermarket high flow cat downpipe? I've seen some on the net such as Japspeed or Cobra, has anyone used these?
The cobra downpipe has a 200 Cell cat, whereas all the others seem to have 100 Cell cats, does anyone know what the WR1 sports cat was originally and what's best to use?

Another problem I'm guessing will be whether the car had a remap when it was decatted but I'm not sure if it has, so if I put a cat back on will the car need to be remapped again? Can anyone recommend who to use in the Herts/Beds/Cams area to help me sort this out?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Carleen

There's plenty of 'friendly' MOT stations that can help you out.

Try find a good shop that is a modder or mapper, with access to MOT stations. They could even put a Cat on for you for the test.

David at API certainly helped me out when I was back in the UK, and my standard exhaust was back here in Finland.
