I need to get a new clutch,

can anyone recommend from personal use which one to buy??

I have spoken to Alyn and I know which clutch I am steering towards.

Is also necessary to renew the fly wheel?

I would be grateful of any input.

Cheers

ps . My 1 is standard

As I understood it when mine was done it's only necessary to replace the flywheel if it's cracked or can't be skimmed. You won't know until the clutch is out!

Which clutch would you go for though?

Exedy OEM equivalent, not sure of the exact name but it was about £250ish while the car was in for a 60k service.

I went for an exedy organic clutch first of all. When changing clutches I was close to getting the ap racing organic clutch but since exedy did as gooder job without judder so i went with that and really rate it. Have now upgraded to exedy twin plate clutch for larger torque levels since sticking a 2.5L in my motor. I thought the WR1 flywheel was already lighter than standard and that changing that at the same time wouldnt be much of a benefit when i first swapped clutches. Some people always say do them at the same time but its not always necessary.

I had the exedy oe clutch fitted about 2 months ago, also payed around £230 for supply of clutch, in standard car, feels fine!

Exedy Std one was fitted for me too by Central Subaru. Willenhall. West Mids. Car has done 48K.
There was no need to touch the flywheel.

Just ask a main stealer how much and you'll get a quote close to £850 !!!
