Lost Keys

Postby WR 1mposter » Thu Sep 01, 2011 9:29 pm

Lost both sets of keys, 1 spare set were put somewhere safe 7 years ago, so safe can't find them, now have lost my set, so can anyone give advice on how I get new keys, rang subaru who say I need key number, which I don't have and they can't tell me with my chassis no., also something to do with malta import, emailed malta no reply as yet.

So I gather key number gets new key, which has to be progammed into ecu, but I have a simtek ecu, so does simtek allow key progamming, or do I have to put o.e ecu in which I dont have, Kev305 had it but never returned it

I have spoken to my local subaru dealer a few months ago because i need a second key, they advised me that I should go to them with the proof of ownership, then they would get the new key ordered as the subaru database holds all of your cars info, it would then need programming to your car at the dealers, looking at around 4 to 5 hundred quid !

I don't have o.e alarm, fitted clifford so no issue there.

Would you really want s/h key and locks, just think about the salvage dealer may only say they have the one key when infact they have the 2, a few week months later they pay a visit in the night !!!!!

It's winter now so no rush
