Grooved Discs

Postby Steveyk » Wed Apr 06, 2011 8:38 am

Are grooved discs normally noisy? Mine are doing my head in, I've even swapped them over so the grooves run the opposite way, but braking from 70mph or so they are properly loud. They're EBC discs and Redstuff pads...
There are no stupid questions, only stupid people.

I had EBC turbo grooved discs and yellow stuff pads fitted to my car after i first got it. The pads were really good but the discs were very noisey when braking. I later sold this setup on and did the job properly and got the AP Racing 355mm Front brake and the rear conversion done. No noise with this particular setup anywhere near as bad as the EBC noise. Also braking is much sharper and the car is far more balanced. Its expensive but what the car should have had on out of the factory in my opinion.
