De greasing and jetwashing the engine bay

Postby S4lford » Sun Apr 03, 2011 10:12 pm

Has anyone de greased and jet washed there engine bay.
Thinking of doing it on mine but not sure what to cover up electric wise.
Any input would be much appreciated,or details of what to do to the bay to make it look cleaner.
Thanks...

Did mine and many impreza/Evo engines. There's not really anything major to cover up on the WR1 engine as all the electrics are covered by plugs etc, maybe cover the alternator though and try to avoid getting the belts too wet.

Meguiars APC or Superdegreaser sprayed and the agitated with a brush followed by a rinse at medium/low pressure will do the trick and then let the engine idle for a few minutes afterwards.

Then apply a dressing such as Aerospace 303 Protectant which is what I've used in the past although I've just done mine with Swissvax Motorshine which is a semi-permanent lacquer type product.
Going round corners just got a whole lot faster...
