Key fob sets off alarm - is this the battery?

Went out to the car tonight and key fob sets off alarm but no indicators flashing - same with spare key - can't open doors either

Is this a dead battery issue?

Think you have a dead battery mate. I had the same problem when i was not using it through the winter.

Try putting Battery on charge, ours has not been started for 3 week ....today battery on trickle charge overnight, will see in the morn whether it worked !

It was the battery - new one fitted today after a call out from the local recovery truck - he reckons it could have been the original battery though so I guess it lasted a fair amount of time
