Hi their mate, the build number should be on the tax disc holder, If you don't have the original then i can help you out,If you don't have the tax disc holder then you can go to subaru and they can tell you what build number it is,

If you unlock the car and dont start it with in an min then the immobiliser will come back on, All you do is put the key in the ignition and press the button on the key to turn the immobiliser off again,

Yeah I used the remote to start but I wasn't sure if there was any other technique haha! Oh right ok il check on the disc holder. Yeah I did notice a stamped number in the service book but I wasnt sure if that was just a warranty issue number or something. Cheers for that :)

Edition number is on the service book and on the tax disc holder if its the original. Also the car has an immobiliser that stops the ignition working after about 30secs of unlocking the car. If you get in and start the car quick enough you wont need to press the button. If you get in and press the button within 30secs the alarm will go off - be warned :)

On test driving my first WRX I stopped for petrol, put a tenner's worth in, hopoped back into the drivers seat and then threw a fit when it wouldn't go. After mucking around for ten minutes wondering whether the battery was flat, I locked it, unlocked it and hey presto it started! It still catches me out now on the 1 every so often. You think you'd learn...

P.s. isn't the build number also on the Prodrive certificate or is that my imagination?

the Prodrive thing is just the normal PPP just with a WR1 logo instead, so only has your reg number and chassis number...

Only place the number is shown is on the service book and your tax disc holder..

My imagination lies to me sometimes...

Is there a reason why the build number wasn't put on the plaque with Solberg's signature on it? Tax disc holders can be lost, but the plaque is fixed to the car.

not sure, but to be fair a few of the plaque's have been nicked from some of them anyhow...

so I guess you can only really tell from the service book or the PPP certificate...
