Pointless changing the stereo the speakers are f**kin shite aswell, all you'll get is a better headunit to the same shite speakers !

I changed my head unit for this one:

Image

Was about £300 at the time, got a free iso connector with it. I went away from flashy screens/dvd, etc and went for pure sound quality etc - this one had very good reviews.

But as soon as you plug it in you realise how crap the speakers are. I spend a further £1000 on speakers after. Sounds great now. BUt you need new speakers. I'd actually go as far as saying stick with the head unit and get new speakers if you're on a tight budget.

I do love the guages...

Am I right in thinking that there was an option to have subaru guages in the same place... like an added extra?

I like them both to be honest. The Subaru one's are subtle and blend in perfectly with the rest of the dash which I like. The defi's are almost at the other extreme being fairly brash and in your face- I like that as well

I think prefer the way the subaru ones blend in - does anyone know if these ever turn up second-hand or can you still buy them new?

DEFI's match the standard instrument cluster a little better too IMVHO athough a little less discreet than the Subaru ones of course

The Lamco / Subaru cluster and surround are fairly easy and cheap to obtain, its the Lamco connection switches, Lamco Boost T-piece restrictor and Lamco Oil pressure switch that are rare, originally the full Kit would have set you back £1600 as an upgrade when new complete

Love the stereo upgrades BTW 8)

Azyman...

Do you have the above parts? Might consider taking it off your hands if you're willing.

I actually have a Lamco boost gauge already installed, will this just fit into the cluster? Or does it need to be a different gauge?
