yes mate as far as I am aware this is perfectly normal, I only use auto or fully open ( bottom Green setting )

I use lock mode with launch control now and again and the others I don't use. However when the snow comes I guess Lock would be good then.

:D

don't worry mate all is fine...

although would suggest you try reading up on how and why diffs work and then some info on the centre diff.

It will then put your mind at rest that the noises you are hearing are perfectly normal...and in some instances you actually want the diffs to be locked to get maximum performance.

Think rally cars, and their pretty much always sideways or at least at teh very edge of traction if not beyond all the time...this is when that DCCD trickery comes into play and helps with getting it round corners in the fastest way possible.

evo has a totally different set-up............

just a word of advice though i wouldn't suggest using LOCK on anything other than very loose surface/snow when your stuck

There are some good threads on here on how the dccd works if you do a search, but as others have said sugget you read up on it before testing it as the car can behave completely differently and you can quite easily knacker the expensive diffs if locking it in the wrong conditions.. :)
