engine management light

hi i have a wr1 does anyone have the same problem as me, as i rev my engine up to near the red my engine managment light comes on then goes out when the revs drop below a certain point, is this a normal thing with wr1's?

we are just up the road off the A1M at the 'angel' so happy to put it on the computer and check whats what.........as an aide it isn't your "shift" light is it??

Does it have an aftermarket ecu? I'm sure I've heard of the engine management light doubling as a knock warning.

if its same rpm in any gear sounds like rpm is set to that rpm - red dot that appears. if its a pic of an engine, then get alyn to take a look at asp :)

nope its deffo a engine managment light mate i have my shift light only set at 4000rpm thought it would make me change gear to save fuel never happened lol i only live in durham so if ya's could help me i would be very happy :)

if it is the transmission light then defo get it check via OBD diagnostics. It may well be a crappy tank of fuel though mate.

I had that happen a few times, but a good full tank of V Power will sort it.
