Ever heard of this before

Postby Scooby dejavu » Wed May 05, 2010 2:45 pm

Just put the car in for its MOT with Subaru 4 You in Newbury, and to get a once over of it since I took ownership. All is well and it has passed the MOT, but some strange results on my two known bugs!

Rear Windows not working: The windows have been wired into the alarm system. The thinking is it might have been an auto close system previously, but its the standard Subaru alarm system and fob so seems very strange, is this standard on the WR1, and if so any ideas why it might not be disarming properly when the alarm is turned off?

Driving Lights: These are not the same as Fog lamps in that they only come on when the full beam is on. Is this normal in the WR1, seems strange as you wouldn't really use them unless you were on an open road.

Some more quirky features to add to owning a WR1, but all in all a fine car!

Yeah that's correct about the driving lamps. I didn't realise until after a while!

After I bought the car I thought I would check out all the lights with the misses stood at the front of the car, when the fog lamps didn't work her reply was "Haha, you've just spent 14 grand on a wank car!" She's such a cock.

You haven't done something silly and by mistake pressed the window lock button?

After the lights you would think its possible, but nop have checked the button and as the garage advised it looks like they are wired into the alarm system.
