Ipod adapter for standard head unit !?

Postby spraggol » Wed Apr 28, 2010 5:16 pm

You probably think Im mad keeping the standard head unit but anyway I don't want to spend too much money on the car as I don't envisage keeping it too long.

Does anyone know where I can get an ipod/iphone adapter to plug into the standard head unit from?

Model number of the kenwood part I need would be useful

Cheers

A cheap option would be to use one of those cassette's with the lead sticking out that plugs into the headphone socket. Try maplins.

Pretty sure you can upgrade to an 8 track if you want. So much better than the standard unit. I have heard a rumour that the new cars even come with a vinyl lp player in the glovebox!

I got one on eBay that just goes through the FM transmitter. About £6 and it comes with a remote. It looks okay and plays good.

I'll finish work and put the link up to the item I bought.

Yeah ive tried two of these before and the reception isnt the best... my thinking with the actual lead connector would be it charges the ipod at the same time so the batter never runs out.

Get one of those tapes that connects your ipod and you just plug it into the tape deck.

I used to use one and was honestly amazed by the sound quality - it is much better than one of those FM transmitters.
