Nearside indicator problem?

My front drivers side indicator won't light up. There is nothing wrong with the bulb or the fuse as I have swapped them over and they are fine.
When I am in the car and indicating right the 'ticker' and 'blinker' goes twice as fast?
What could the problem be?

Not sure if it's the relay I'll have a check tomorrow.
Definately not the bulb that's knackered as I put it in the offside indicator and it was fine in there.
All abit odd to me.
6 years of Scooby ownership and this is the first thing I've had go tits up!

I've still got the problem. I swapped over the relay and bulb and still nothing. I disconnected and reconnected the battery and tried it and it worked once!
It doesn't work on hazards or when locking or opening the car either.
I have even taken the headlight out and had a look at all connections, all seems fine there.

Looks like you'll need to take it to a auto electrician, May be a problem with the relay,

Have you checked the wires to the indicator and that there is actually power reaching the lamp (and also a continuity back to the negative terminal)?

That's all a little bit above me i'm afraid. It's off to Subaru next month anyway so I'll get them to have a look.
Cheers for the replys though Gents.
