I stripped the downpipe from the back of the turbo an found the circular part of the wastegate to be very slack, can this be replaced without taking the turbo out ?

Thanks

Don't need to change out the wastegate, just change out the Actuator fo reither a Forge one (EXPENSIVE but worth it) or thread the end of the actuator and fit the end rod off a TD05 which will allow you to tighten the load on the actuator............

BEAR IN MIND - if your boost is fine then tightening the spring load on the actuator will result in a Boost spike as the ECU feeds only the required amount of air (via the BCS) to control it so it'll not feed enough to start with to open the Wastegate enough when on boost but should have no trouble compensating over time... especially if you reset the ECU.

Let me know how you get on.
