its fairly heavy at a standstill, but nothing major...

try taking the cap off your filler bottle...then turn wheel from lock to lock. This may bleed any air from system...put a rag around the top of it just incase some fluid spills out.

Is the pump making noises? Could be shagged or leaking?

when driving along, set c-diff to manual and then open it fully - bottom green light.

the steering should immediately get lighter, do you notice this?

If it's noisy turning lock to lock at standstill, Put some fluid in it. Even if you think it's at the right level put some more in to bring it to the top level or slightly above. They do get very noisy when the level is down. This cures 99% of noisy pumps / heavy steering issues.

Don't brim it though, PS fluid does get hot and expands quite a bit.

Not saying you do this, but when parking or manovouring slowly a lot of drivers turn to full lock and hold it there and the steering pumps strains which could cause the pump to wear ....like I said not saying you do, but my mrs does
