FRONT FOG LIGHTS

Hi everyone,
a quick question.when i have my sidelights on or my drivinglights on when i switch the front fog light button nothing happens but if i put on my high beams they will come on if the switch is pressed in.
ive also noticed that the foglight button is not illuminated when the other buttons are.is this normal.

Yes, they are driving lights. If you look at the button you will see it is a fog light button with a sticker over the top hence why it does not light up.

No probs. You would not believe the amount of Subaru main dealers that don't understand the difference between driving lights and fog lights. If I remember correctly there is a replacement button available so it lights up

they are a bit pointless really as on full beam you can see clearly anyway

I'm sure there's probably a way to wire it up to do that... It would be much much better if they came on with a flick of the switch...

Someone should do it and then write a how-to!

Mine do

Basically the driving lights are wired to the main beam, according to the prodrive wiring diagram that I have somewhere, pretty certain its a blue wire...or it could be red....green... tick tick tick boom ...oops

This has been discussed on this forum before, but they are driving lamps:

"Driving lamp" is a term deriving from the early days of nighttime driving, when it was relatively rare to encounter an opposing vehicle. Only on those occasions when opposing drivers passed each other would the dipped or "passing" beam be used. So it is intentional that they only come on with full beam to prevent people using them inappropriately and dazzling oncoming traffic.

you too have a fantastic wr1,the discs and calipers [aps] are fantastic bet they stop you realy well.
got my boost gauge and pod fitted looks realy good and shows that im getting 1.4 bar of boost on a hot day cant wait for the cold days to come for a bit more power.
