How to stop squeeky brakes?!

Postby Megaman » Thu Aug 06, 2009 12:09 pm

After the track day at bruntingthorpe before which my pads were nearly new and just bedded in nicely, my brakes now squeek when applied gently in rush hour driving. Any idea how to stop them?

AP Racing kit front n back, squeek seems to come from front..

Take pads out, give callipers and pads a good dust out and re-apply copper grease to the back of the pad.

Alternatively, if mine start to squeak I stamp on them a few times and that usually:-

1) puts you passenger through the front windscreen, consequently squeaking pads don't seem so much of a current issue.
2) take car to Adam and get him clean them out. <== I've asked him to have my babies but he said no.

Put some grease on the discs this will stop any squealing noises, there might be side effects though like not being able to stop but it'll defo stop the squealing

i'm not having your babies, the simple reason was you did pin me against the windscreen when i was reading data from your ecu, i recall you laughed lots and i called you a c*#t! lol i can laugh about it now the bruising has gone.

martin the squeaking will most likley be a build up of the dust in the brakes from the track day. like bro says they just need a quick clean and re grease the sliders and back with copper ease grease, if your down this way it would only take about half hour. :)
