Improving the WR1 Stability

I feel my stability isn't right on my WR1, possible need new springs or I'm just expecting to much as my previous car an Astra Triple 888 was very planted with the Triple 888 suspension coupled with while line anti roll bars.

So I want your guys expert option on how to improve stability.

Shall I:

1. Get new springs i.e. TEIN which I have heard people talk about.
2. Get the infamous coilovers that everyone talks about

Mines is still standard and felt very stability on and off the track,

I guess without knowing anything about what you were used to it is hard to say if your WR1 has a genuine problem or your Astra was simple far superior with respect to handling.

Coilovers I would defo go for Exc-tc. Not only are they great on the road, they are superb on the track.

If you don't wanna go to that expense then I would look at whiteline ARBs (front and back) and ALK. Alternatively you could look at Perrin.

On top of all that, try getting a more drive focused geometry. Speak to Ninemiester.

I got my car a lot flatter and slightly stiffer than standard with front and rear anti roll bars, as well as front and rear strut braces, fitted by autotecnica in Buxton. Car feels great now and is very flat on the corners. I tested a few coilover kits and found some like Tein would be overdamped meaning your car literally bounced around as it was a too hard setup - ideal for a track but B roads would be lethal. Best thing to do is set a budget and find the best solution for your budget. EXTC are the best coilovers to go for but arent cheap!

I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO :( :( :(

Do I need new springs, because mine could be worn and need replacing?
Do I get new suspension? However I have new rear shocks and front wasn't reported as worn by Subaru.
Do I just get anti roll bars???

OR IS IT JUST ME???

WR1 Bro, I will have to discuss this with you tomorrow at the SMACS if you don't mind. Perhaps have test drive too?

i just fitted the whiteline anti roll bars new drop links front and back from Gp Motor sport top bloke give him a call

made a big difference to my WR1

I might have to consider ARBs, that's what my Astra had.

they are a cheaper option to see if it brings it up to what you expect

I fitted 22mm front and 24mm rear Perrin bars and droplinks on my old WR1 along with an anti-lift kit and a 4 wheel alignment and it improved things hugely, I will probably get around to having them fitted on the Hawkeye eventually. The Hawkeye currently just has an uprated rear anti roll bar which still gives a useful improvement over standard but doesn't turn in as sharply as the 1 did on my favourite roundabout. :lol:
One thing I did notice was how much more harsh the Perrin PSRS(anti-lift kit) made the ride. When I removed it before selling the car I was actually glad to see the back of it, but Perrin do an optional bush kit for this which still has most of the advantages of the PSRS but with a more compliant ride. I will definately be buying the softer bushes before fitting it to the new car.
