My front tyres are wearing on the inner edge, my backs are ok. Do i just buy 2 new fronts or should i get 4 new tyres and get the steering geometry setup and start from scratch?
PS has anyone used Scooby Clinic in Chesterfield to get the steering sorted

sounds like a camber thing?

I would just get fronts sorted and a 4 wheel alignment...why spend an extra couple of hundred quid...unless the tread is getting close to the limit.

I've used Scooby Clinic once for a service, they seemed OK to be fair although I wouldn't use them again knowing other tuners/garages around since owning my WR1....

I agree with Caveman, just get the front sorted and get a 4-wheel alignment, I took mine to RCM for an alignment and it was a different car when I drove it out afterwards

there are many settings that people have mate...

I have no idea what mine are set to, but I know they are not stock settings for sure.

Maybe other members can advise what you should set them to. But whatever they are you should be able to take them along to any laser set up place and get them sorted.

The only snag is that you may need camber bolts, but these are pretty cheap. Around 40 quid.

Is that your current stripped out racer settings or before you started work?

Cheers guys, well can anyone recomend a place that knows these cars, in the yorkshire/derbyshire region?

0 degree toe, with -2 degs camber at rear and -1.5 degs at the front

I thought the fronts were supposed to have more than rear?? Infact I thought the rears were supposed to have 0 toe and 0 camber?


Toe is done in plan view...so wheels pointing in towards each other or away from each other.
Camber is front view, where tyres are closer at top than the bottom or vice versa.
Castor and KPI (King Pin Angle I assume) is in side view and isn't adjustable. It is pretty much the angle of the wheel hub assembly (think of it as the rake of a choppers front wheel).

As i said it might as well be in spanish for me.
Its wat the car is running now all done by powerstation.

And it felt good on the track. 2 lotus exige an ariel atom and a toyota celica all spun off trying to stop me getting past on my last track day.

nah, you will end up paying for the privelige at RCM. As good as they are, I reckon they are best left to the tricky stuff and major works.

If you are only getting new tyres and a 4 wheel alignment then any semi decent garage can do that. All they need is a laser set, and providing they do it to your settings then nothing should go wrong.

Crikey even Kwik Fit could do this easily enough. Just take along a few bags of nuts to keep the monkeys sweet

Feck me I wouldn't go within 10 miles of any kwik fit with my car, the other half has to take hers there as its a company car and everytime they change the tyres it has to go back at least three times before they can even get them balanced properly

I'd certainly be careful where you take it, I took mine to what I thought was a good garage a few years back who told me that the alignment was fine, but it turns out they were talking a bag of sh1te when I put up the alignment results on here.

They may have all the lazer set up but there still fookin useless.

crikey!! I must of had one of the better trained monkeys then.

Although to be fair I have never taken the 1 to any Kwik Fit...it was the company car, but all work done seemed OK.

Had my car in at RCM today for the steering geometry and a few other jobs, got to say Ollie and Matt are top guys and sorted out some issues i had that my local Subaru dealer couldn't, or couldn't be arsed to! the car feels so much better now, i had a wicked drive home, going the long way round

Thinking of getting new tyres for my car, What tyres did the wr1 come with? Av got toyo's just now and they seem ok,
