Oxygen sensor on a wr1 problems!!!

Postby Pitta » Wed May 27, 2009 5:55 pm

Hi does anyone know if there is a oxygen sensor in the down pipe after the turbo on a wr1 as mine is disconnected and i cannot find the connection point for it? i know there is one after the cat and that is ok. think its causing my engine to hunt from warm as it will be over fueling
cheers

No, there isn't. There is a lambda sensor though.

If your car is remapped, you probably don't need it. If it's standard, it shouldn't run properly with the sensor disconnected and they generally give an engine warning then. Does it ?

Just went out to check mine to see if i could help you but i can't see any sensors in the area you described, i even stuck my hand down & felt around the areas that i couldn't see but nothing.
Took a pic of it to show you what mine looks like in that area, mine is standard so if it doesn't look like this then someone has changed something. The white heat jacket is the sports cat that is in the standard exhaust system if you don't have that it's been decatted.
