rear struts as you say and the turbo up pipe heat shield normally falls to pieces.

... unless you modify it at WRC-tech

On a serious note, what I found a 'design fault' on the STi (also suffered by the WR1):
- Rear struts (already mentionned)
- Standard tracker tends to empty batteries
- Rear seats have cheap cloth inlays instead of alcantara like at the front
- Too understeered when standard
- Fading brakes (standard ones)
- Rear legroom is really small compared to direct competitor making the car not suitable for skiing trips with 4 people
- Bottle for intercooler spray sits in the booth (so freezes in winter)(it would be better to put the bottle of the windscreenwasher there as that always contains anti-freeze)
- 'Manual only' intercoolerspray is useless
- No Xenon lights available in Europe
- Standard ECU was never tested in Scandinavia for sure
- Design of the front allows too much water to end up on the brake-discs when it rains which causes serious fade when braking at the end of every long straight

Fookin quality Sweede could'nt have put it better myself .......

But just dont metion the latest tuners who were let loose on our car, they must not have had any spanners seeing as all spark plugs were undone with fingers, and the gearbox had only 4 out of 9 bolts whilst the turbo to down pipe had had nuts missing and the same with the downpipe to the exhaust....and the list goes on and on
At least WRC Tech had spanners to tighten nuts and then give them to you free off charge

True.

One more 'design fault', although I cannot confirm this was only on mine or on all of them: at high speed the bonnet would give the impression it was going to fly open any time (result of the 'scoop' ?) and the rear wing was vibrating very loudly.

Mine did! The other week coming back from the MOT station, doing about 70 (or so  ) I noticed the scoop seemed to rise slightly and the edge of the bonnet wasn't in line with the wing. Had to get into the nearest lay by asap and shut the bonnet. (thank god for the safety catch!)
I have a dodgy bonnet catch so whether the MOT station opened it to have a look and never shut it properly I'm not sure?
I am aware of it at all times now so I notice any slight movement.

I can't remember if it did it as such low speeds, but once over 120, there thing always looked like it was going to end in the windscreen and once over 150 the rear spoiler sounded as if it was going to come off.

My bonnet catch filled with road muck when i opened it it wouldn't shut again so had to use loads of wd40 to free it up again & a wee screwdriver to clean out the gunk.
