Service Intervals

Postby Bonovox » Tue May 12, 2009 9:39 am

My car has done 49,950 miles. Now it must be about due it's 50K service and cambelt change I hear you cry?
Well no, It had it's 45k service done last August at 46k miles, then it must have been traded in and the garage I bought it from done the 50k Service and Cambelt at 48,300.(last October) Thing is when should I get the 55k done? Do I wait till I clock the miles or do I have to get it done after 6 months? :?

If it's not under warranty then I'd just get the oil and filter changed (minor service) and go to 55k.... at least you'll get back in sync with the service book....

I had a new engine at 35k so my whole service was thrown out. I will have the 50k service next year and will change the belt etc (will only have done 15k) but I wanted to get mine back in sync...

Everyone is different though.

I agree with John. Personally I would do the six montly oil changes. It doesn't cost a fat lot.
