High boost or not

I have just bought a wr1 it has a full exhaust system and a remap, it also has defi gauges, my brother informs me i goes up to 1.8 bar a drops back to 1.6 , is this ok ?

I think it would be ok to go to peak at 23psi then run 20psi, Iirc you get 8bhp more every psi you go up,

I ran 28psi on the frs with standard turbo and internals :shock:

1.8 peak 1.6 tail of is very high if your on the standard turbo. Standard bar is 1.4 which i mind Prodrive saying around the launch time of the car was the maximum safe level they they could dial in for longevity of the turbo. You could go a wee bit higher as they're running it on a very safe margin so customers won't be blowing turbos but i still reckon 1.8 peak is to much for the standard turbo to last long on.

remember defis over-read by about 0.1 bar too, so you're really talking about 1.7 tailing off to 1.5. Still sounds high for standard turbo
