oil temp should certainly not be 120 on normal driving. Perhaps on track conditions, also depends on the type of oil it's using. assuming this car has an oil gauge?

Normal driving : 85-90 C

Track : 100-110 C

120 C ?? Shite cooling and/or shite oil.

120c for any car is pretty flipping hot - possibly guage scale is out or they are using the wrong oil.

a guy I know with an Evo said his runs at around 135 which I suggested sounded very high, he said it was fine :? I dont think so. I was told that 120 was more than enough on track and if it gets that hot, let it cool. it should cool very quickly if you back off even without oil coolers etc..

Yeh I think 120 is max running temp Dan, If I was doing track days I think id be sticking in a bigger oil cooler for sure.

Mine creeps up to around 90/95 if I'm sat in traffic but comes down to 80 when I get moving again - think the warning light is set to come on at around 115/120...

Is there a lower threshold thermostat available so it kicks in at a lower temp? Always put these on my other cars just to be safe.

My defi run at 90/95 on normal and 100/115 for track use, not that the car is capable of being used on the track

Thermostat ? are you talking about the oil or the water here ?

The standard car only has a standard oil cooler, to improve oil cooling you can fit a mocal oil cooler with more rows on it.
