Surging on idle when vehicle is warm?

Hi everyone has anyone ever had this problem on their wr1 when my engine is hot and is started the revs surg up and down between 1000rpm and 750rpm? this will carry on doing this till i press the throttle and it will clear and run normal! but this problem only happens on start up when engine is hot, any ideas?

Is that the solution Foley, just put massive letters in the tank? Sounds a bit simple to me?!?

could it be idle control valve needs cleaning or replacing or MAF needs cleaning?

Simple things for simple people

make sure your air con is not on as when it kicks in and out the revs will jump a wee bit!!!!

how often do you start it when the engine is hot??? you should cool it down before you stop it

replaced the air filter and fuel filter seems to be sorted now only thing i have now is a TAP from cold only last a second and does not do it all the time

is your oil and filter in good nick?

yer mate brand new think its coming from the aux belt area if not might be bottom end but i dont think its that cos would do it all the time even when hot! as i say just a split second
