Anyone ever had problems with engine mounts?

How many miles are engine mounts good for?

you can always try to check these with a friend.

Open bonnet and stand looking at the mounts with your mate in the car...pop it in gear and gently bring the clutch to biting point..if the mounts are knackered then you will hear and may hear excessive movement.

As the power train takes up the strain you would expect some movement, but knackered mounts would obviously move alot more.

I suspect mine have gone or are on way out as when you let off the accelerator you feel the car wobble a slight, more noticeable at higher speeds i.e. on the motorway. My work mate who quite knowledgeable on car suspects it’s the engine mounts.

I have noticed when revving the engine from under the bonnet using the throttle leaver, you can see the engine move from left to right slightly by say an up to an inch.

Having Subaru check it today, hopefully as these are not suppose to go then I'll be able to get replaced under extended warranty.

Can someone else check there engine, to see if it moves from side to side excessively when revving and let me know please?
