Nearly had my WR1 a month and still can't lose the smile on my face. but a couple of questions . Does anyone have movement of the gearstick in 1st gear. It looks like it is shaking but f i hold it it seems to be fine. Also what difference will i see if use 95ron, 97ron , 99ron fuel. is it damaging to the car running on lower grade fuel. I am currently running on 97ron and it seems to be fine.
:D

Dont have a problem with the gear stick......And as for fuel, this is a long story but at the end of the day, its a turbo car so you should use the highest octane fuel for it

my 1st gear is fine... as for fuel i use vpower from shell as much as possible. ive tried the odd tank of standard 95 ron unleaded when ive been stranded from a shell and notice a lack of power top end. I believe fifth gear tested an STI with unleaded and then with super unleaded and found it to lose 30BHP. Its on youtube somewhere but proves it does make a difference.

AFAIK, I don't have a problem with my gearstick in 1st gear, will check again.

Regards to fuel, the owners manual states 97 or above. I really wouldn't use 95 unless really had to as no other fuel was available, but I certainly wouldn't drive hard on 95. I always V-Power!

i think by law all cars have to run on 95 ron but it does have a significant impact on performance...

Whilst we are on the topic has anyone tried that new super duper fuel thats kicking around. If i remember it was BP who were trialling it and it was something like 102 ron. I tried some in my focus ST when i found some in Milton Keynes last year. It was at the time £85 to fill my tank which normally cost £40 - £45 so about double the price. It did have a noticeable impact on performance but I doubt anyone could affordably run it day to day... Wonder how the scoob would react to it...
