Oil again!

Postby Foley » Fri Mar 06, 2009 2:52 pm

Been reading through old threads looking at what oil everyone is using, Everyone seems to be using different grades, I normally use valvoline 5/40 is this any good for the wr1? Just checked ma oil and it's empty  The car is going in for it's 30k service soon so would it be ok just to top it up?
The car is standard at the moment,

Deffinatly top it up, and keep an eye on it as it will probably keep using it until you have the oil change. I always use Silkolene 5/40

my local dealership gives me a tub of oil with every service to top it up with as it does burn some oil. When i say "give" what i mean is they stick it in the boot then bill me for it - got about 3 bottles at home now lol

PS No idea what grade it is off the top of my head but i remember looking for some in halfords a while back and was told its specialist stuff?!
