Tyres again?

Postby Nick » Thu Nov 13, 2008 7:07 pm

Living on Scooby island is getting through tyres at a rate of knots. What's the current favourites please?

Very fast driving on lots of rough B roads over the hills with some rain & mud. Currently using Michelin Pilots.

I've just recently put a set of Yokohama Parada's on my 1. Safe to say I'll be buying them again!

In the dry I can take some corners quicker than my dad dares to try in his 993 Turbo and even in the wet they offer decent grip - when they do let go its nice and progressive and a nice wee drift looks and feels cool anyways :D

Much better than the Pirellis. Granted, they probably wont last as long but I really couldnt care considering how much grip they give. My car will only do 3 or 4,000 miles a year anyways...
Going round corners just got a whole lot faster...

Thanks Clark, I'll check them out.

Have you tried them in wet mushy weather?

That Swede guy's a bit grumpy isn't he? I saw the Tech section, but didn't think that tyres qualified as being tech.

Yep, had the car out in the pissing rain one night and was expecting them to be dreadful but i was pleasantly surprised - even standing water isnt too much of a problem. 4WD obviously helps. As i said before, when they do let go it's nice and progressive and quite predictable 8)
