Flat Battery!

Postby presa900 » Mon Nov 10, 2008 10:15 am

Went to get it out of the garage this morning to find the battery completely dead, not even the alarm went off when I opened the door with the key :?

Anybody got any ideas what could have caused this, the car has only been sat in the garage since Thursday last week :?

This is the first time its ever let me down.......... :(

Tracker, alarms will all run the battery down if left for long periods, Funny enough, I was awakened this morning at 5 to the sound of my alarm on my WRX as the battery goes flat the alarm thinks it strange so sounds the alarm, Had to start my transit van and bring it closer to it and use jump leads for a bit of extra power as the keyfob wouldnt do anything either because there wasnt enough power in the car battery lol, I was popular this morning with my neighbours lol

Yep, my alarm started going off a few weeks back because the battery was low. But, it had been left for 6 or so weeks.

PMSL... Alarm would not sound with the interior light on because the car wouldn't get scared in the dark?

Just got a new battery at the weekend as mine went flat again & wouldn't take a charge this time.
My alarm always sounds when it goes flat & it always happens at night never during the day :x Which ends in a mad rush trying to get dressed , find the keys & a circuit of the garage to grab a 10mm spanner before i wake the whole neighborhood lol.

My car hasnt moved for over 2 weeks (SORN'd for the winter) and it started no problems at all yesterday as i wanted to let it sit and run for a bit. Gonna get a battery conditioner though to prevent it going dead when I decided I want to take it out to play in 5 or so months time :D
Going round corners just got a whole lot faster...

Mind you, I shouldn't laugh, it has happened to me too. You arrive at a place, need to quickly check where your mobile or wallet is in a dark car and you forget the interior light :brick:

The Scoob was pretty bad on battery though. If we left ours for one week without driving, the Tracker would have emptied the battery.
