Reading the spec list I was intrigued to see that 15/50 oil is the choice of RCM !!!

Can't believe you are spending all that cash and not taking the opportunity to change the ECU to a proper one.

Simtek, Solaris, Motec, Gems are all motorsport spec versions, way better than the standard one, and you get launch control and antilag thrown in too...plus you can re-map as you get more stuff done...and also get 2 or 3 maps to choose from incase you end up coming across crappy fuel,

just an EcuTek re-flash in my opinion is a let down to the great mods you are doing.

good luck though mate...I am sure we would all be doing this if we had the chance.

Nice Spec azyman, you know its the right way to go ...

but would def ask Dave Rowe .. about Simtek.. you will see good results

The bueaty of 2 maps .. i run 400 or 470 ..

i am thinking the same with a simtek after speaking to olly today i have a budget and the budget was in my head before the simtek was mentioned as the standard ecu was in the first quote

i am awaiting the final figure by the sounds of it the ecu might be the way to go

as i have purchased the turbo and several other parts from chriss and his upgrade so the ecu needs to be pushed infront of some bling items :D

as rocko says 2 maps is my thoughts as my partner drives the car more then me so i would get a 150bhp for her and all the rest for me

I would ask about the Solaris too...this is what I should of gone for really..but only learnt about it afterwards.

Simtek is Andy and Simon, whereas Solaris is Pat's...

If it is good enough for Andy F, then it should be good enough for anybody...lots of features that the Simtak doesn't have right now...the major one being active knock control.

I am sure there are others on here who would know more than me...I think Dunc uses Solaris too.

Motec would be my first choice and Solaris would be my "BUDGET" choice. Simtec for your lawnmower

Well yesterday was the day :D

picked the car up from RCM

a lot of things changed over the period of booking it in and getting it done so had to make several cut backs on the full spec
[untill things change on the work front]

but for what i have had done i am over the moon with, the power delivery is madness from the RCM400 turbo

the car drives so much better its like the feeling i got when i first bought the car

will sort out some pictures and a spec list very soon for those who are interested

when i was up there they had an amazing P1 they have done a lot of work on

Yes the dreaded cost !

Hopefully it will be done for Brunters, defo going to be over 500bhp just depending on which turbo, eventually got a 2.2 block, just need some spec c heads which are like rockin horse shite, or will use jdm heads with cosworth cams with rcm springs and valves....amongst other goodies TSI
