There 46 pages on Nasioc about this .I am deffo sure its the strut because it does not happen every time i change gear .I even sprayed the anti roll bar bushes with wd40 today no difference .Nasioc mention taking the strut of and lubricating the top mount and grease in the dust cover and cures the click clunk noise for a 3/8 thousand miles depends on how you drive

Thanks for the update :D

That's not good, Subaru should be dealing with these problems, not us paying for their mistakes :x

STI shockers have been an issue since 2002

Agreed Paul !

Even warranty replaced shocks are knocking !

3 reason why to pay out for coilovers
1) Standard replacements out of warranty are stupidly expensive.
2) Coilover kits are a far better option on cost aswell as better handling. 3) Sold the standard shocks to break down the cost of the coilovers.

True.

The problem is that the seals wear out quickly and dirt gathers inside the shockabsorber.

When they took mine off, you could actually move slightly the shaft in its housing and hear a 'clonk'.

I wouldn't let Subaru get away with not replacing them under warranty.

All depends of course on your mileage.
