#429 for sale

Hi all,
Due to some unexpected family problems, it looks like 429 will be looking for a new home. Bought it last year, with the intention of keeping (
My mum had a heart attack just after the New Year, she's still in hospital and will be for another 4 weeks, at least. She won't be able to go back to living on her own, so she will be moving in with me and the wife. We had planned on moving home to Lincolnshire at the end of 2013 or early 14 but now we will have to look to move sooner, due to room. Mum's house will be on the market by the end of Feb, and with the cash from that and our house (borrow on the equity on our house in the short term), I can't afford to keep the car.
I think I have done maybe 1000 miles since I bought it, it had a service at RCM last October and was MOT'd last December. The tax is due at the end of this month, and it has been in the garage for the last 6 week's, keeping it away from the salt.

It has been a very well looked after car, as I'm sure other forum members will agree with. Sorry to see it go, but family comes first.
If you would like an independent assessment, give RCM a call and ask for Ollie.
The only thing that has changed on the car since I bought it, it has the reg TAZ 7429 and a double din Pioneer head unit with blutooth. These can be bought with the car or I can remove them?.
I paid £9500 and so, I would like :-
£9,500 without the plate and stereo
or £10,000 as is.

As for the 1, not in any great rush to sell, it will just be one less thing to worry about. theres quite a lot of cash tied up in it.

Bump - To a vehicle in top condition - I nearly purchased this vehicle - Matty took me out for a spin in it when he was owning it - couldn't sell my old subaru in time.

Family is so much more important and I hope it all goes ok.

It's one cracking motor and you need to also drop it in on SIDC mate - I had good interest from there.

Good luck selling - I'd be tempted to buy her back if I had the money

Just a bit unfortunate how things have gone.
Mum came out of hospital last Friday, and is now with us. We accepted an offer her house yesterday, so going to try a bit harder to sell the 1. Need the cash and the room in the garage for storage when it does sell.
Still love the car and maybe in a couple of years I might be in a position to buy another 1, who knows?

I'm glad she is ok and with you mate, some things are much more important than a bit of metal and 4 wheels!

There's was a lot in interest when I sold - make sure you get some new pics up though, or use mine in a post - I don't mind that one bit

The BM is going well mate - quite a pokey little hatch and oddly revs to the red line easily (diesel!!!). Got myself a Impreza GL '98 for the week of snow, slow but honest motor

Going to take some pics over the next few days, then decide where to advertise. I reckon I will put my plate on retension, and maybe swap the stereo back over. Don't mind taking a little bit of a hit on the price, reckon I have got a few weeks to sell it.

Sorry to hear about your mum,
I know all about heart attacks as I have had four,
I hope she makes a full recovery, the hardest thing is to regain confidence and lead a normal life.

What is the mileage on the 1 please?

Mum is a lot better for being out of hospital and in with us. We lost my dad last year and it was very hard for her after 50 years of marrage. She seems a lot happier, now she has company. I think having someone there makes a difference to her confidence. Cheers

The mileage is 64500, full service history, looking for around £9500 and the reg is negotiable, unless I get chance to put it on retention first.

Hi Matty,
No serious enquiries so far. Quite a few questions but I think they were just wasting time.
Trying to sort out the sale of Mum's house at the mo, so that's taking up a fair bit of time. Solicitor's etc. might have another go next week at trying to sell it. had it on ebay, loads of watchers but no buyers.

went over to the DVLA in Northampton this morning, now in the throes of putting the TAZ plate on retention. Should be all sorted in a couple of weeks.
Don't suppose the house will go through that quick, knowing how the solicitors take their time.

All paperwork back and correct. It's on it's original reg number, 54 plate.
