Prodrive Flow Forming Alloys (8 for sale)

Postby welshWR1 » Sat Oct 18, 2008 8:12 pm

Hi,

I noticed the paintwork on two of my PFF7's started corroding around the edges a few months ago (front two), and I decided to buy some WR1 PFF7 Alloys off ebay so that I could either use to replace my two corroded ones or use temporarily whilst I reconditions my two. However, when they were delivered, I noticed that although they were genuine PFF7's, they were not the genuine WR1 colour.(they were darker-I believe that they are anthracite-not entirely sure though!)

I decided not to put them on my car, and proceeded to buy yet another set of genuine WR1 PFF7's and swaped my 2 corroded wheels for 2 of the new ones.

Therefore, what I have for sale is:

i) 4no used genuine PFF7's (suspected anthracite colour) ok condition-some light scratches-nothing nasty, perfectly straight!

ii)2no used genuine WR1 PFF7's ok condition-some light scratches-nothing nasty, perfectly straight!

iii)2no used genuine WR1 PFF7's not so good condition (I am very fussy) with some corrosion blistering on edges- I reccomend reconditioning.

I am willing to sell these wheels as they are, or I'll recondition them to any colour required. Please note that the factory paint quality of PFF7's is far from perfect, and reconditioned wheels are usually of a better quality than new-I'm sure many will agree with me!

Please PM me if anybody is interested, or if you wish to make me an offer!

i dont believe it .............i had 4 delivered on wednesday!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2 of them are the darker colour and 2 are a lighter colour i got them for a good price (the had nearly new yokohama prada spec 2 tyres on) so were worth buying just for the tyres as i will soon need a set. i was thinking of getting them reconditioned and painted a different colour. i got them just for the winter (if i have to take the car out. will try to use wifes car) i also have a set of OZ ultraleggerras but are a pain to keep clean so take them off for the winter.
so if you could PM me with what you are after for 2 of them (ii) or maybe (iii) as might be re-conditioning them anyway.
A mate of mine might be interested in the set of 4 i will get ahold of him tomorrow and ask him. do they have tyres on??
cheers
Paul

Bright flitter is a very different colour, almost a perfect match to crystal grey paint

yes all are still for sale. 4 are the genuine WR1 colour, and 4 are darker-colour unkown!

I though I was buying genuine WR1 wheels, but I was fobbed off with the darker ones. I was really p****d off as I paid over the odds for them anyway!

The colour of wr1 wheel is "pewter" and they are darker then the "bright flitter" that ppf7's also come in. maybe your 1 has "bright flitter" by chance possible is it so !

put some pics up of both would be a good way to tell

No, mine are definetly the proper wr1 pewter-and not bright flitter (I have two sets). The other (third) set are a lot darker! Its as if there's a very slight gold/bronze fleck in them. I've seen the colour previously on a 02 plate sti.
