EcuTek mapping WR1 owners discount

PostPosted: Wed Sep 12, 2007 8:52 pm
by Bob Rawle
Hi everyone, BR Developments are pleased to offer WR1 owners who are members of this site the same discount for our remapping services as we extend to the P1 owners club, our retail cost for a remap of the factory ECU is £545 plus vat if the car has a closed ecu or £395 plus vat if the ecu is already open. Closed means "never been mapped before" and open means "having been previosly mapped by another EcuTek tuner".

The discounted cost is £495 plus vat if closed and £295 plus vat if open.

If any one has questions relating to mods, what they can or can't do to get the best from their cars don't hesitate to contact me. All part of the service.

best regards

Bob :D :D

I can personally recommend Bob's services.

He mapped my car with fantastic results, I'm well chuffed. Anyone that's considering modding now they're out of warranty and wondering what gains could be expected etc should definitely give Bob a shout.

I'm sure other members that have used him will also provide some positive feedback :D

Likewise from me... Bob mapped our car last weekend and came very highly recommended by Marky Mark.

Nice one Bob. :D

Never mind just about modded cars.

If you want your completely standard car mapped it will produce more power and torque, have better fuel consumption and will not invalidate the warranty as the dealers won't be able to tell.

Bob has been there, seen it and done it and you can be sure any modifications he says are worthwile - will be - and any he says that are not - won't be.

On a purely personal level he is also very affable and chatty, and if you are not well up on the technical side will explain things simply and so you can understand them. Unless you are like me and you ask to many questions as then he will just bamboozle you.

Good figures there Bro - is that what you were expecting?

I think I bored him sh**less at a rolling road day at DS Automotives earlier in the year. :)

A very helpful chap he was that day, but I bet he was glad to get away from me.

Bhp is a little above what we (Mark) expected.

Torque us a little low at the moment but the turbo is a RCM400 development turbo that will be modified in the near future and replaced on my car.

Bob Rawle suggested that the turbo inlet needs to be smaller to aid earlier spool up and consequently improve torque.... The downside to this could be that the power tails off at the top of the rev range unlike at the moment where it keeps pulling until the limiter. Please note, I'm only stating what I think understood from Bob Rawle and subsequent multiple explanations from Marky Mark. If anything is misrepresented I suspect Mark will straighten this out!!

What boost are you running Bro?

Looks like it is a fairly level boost curve

THe DEFI is reading 1.5 so I guess that equates to 1.4 which is standard for the WR1.

That's good, so it looks you can get around 400bhp at about 1.4BAR from a decent sized turbo. I was reading a thread on Scoobynet recently about the Scooby Clinic SC42 and figures of around 385bhp at 1.4BAR were mentioned. I wasn't sure whether to believe it.

Bro, did you forge your engine or are you still running stock internals?

Looks like Spike has got some serious competition!

Fully stock internals Anders, i did not touch the motor - just bolt on bits and a bit of bobs wizadry. :D

What's the limit on the standard motor? I was thinking of running slightly less power / torque on the new turbo, while I save up for a forged build - then turn up the boost

Forged and boost seems very tempting to me at the moment.

Yes defo will be done... Not necessarily for more power... More for reliability and, ok, a little more power.

agreed. it sounds like circa 400 bhp and 440 torque would be achievable if I went that route without having to do some more stuff.

of course then the next stage would be turbo, injectors, headers, etc, etc etc and the list is quite literally endless.

Dear Santa....

Saw Bob on Saturday so he could fit 80mil induction, 3 port, and map to suit. Car runs like a dream and sound absolutely Crazy!
I think the figures are 398BHP and 427 lb/ft but Bob can probably confirm and answer any technical questions, all I know is I love it,
Great job Bob - thanks again :thumb:

Massive thanks to Bob for the recent mapping on the car. Not only was the running in map exactly what the car seemed to need the final map is just jaw dropping. results of 481BHP and 509 lbft will keep me smiling forever! Great work by Bob, took quite a lot of work to get it right and the end result is perfect, as always.

Thanks Bob :thumb:
