Hi folks.

Postby Bonovox » Sun Jul 13, 2008 3:07 pm

Just joined and already asking for help!

I'm looking at buying number 141 But It has a high mileage (One owner a professional gentleman whatever that means? :? ) I know in an Ideal world I would love to be able to afford a low mileage mint condition specimen but in the real world I can't So Is a high mileage nesseserily a bad thing if you have full Subaru service history?
Also does anyone know anything about No 141?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Brilliant site by the way, just hope I can get another WR1 up here to Aberdeen!

80,000  Just passed MOT and had a recent service.
It has 17 dealer service stamps.

I notice from having a look in the various forums here that there are about 4 or so in Aberdeen? And someone has one at the end of my parents street that has been in their driveway and up on blocks for a while (maybe getting a wheel refurb?)

how much is it for sale for, out of interest. That is high mileage, I can't recall an owner on here having one with such high mileage, so feedback on what could go wrong etc might be limited...? :?

It's going for £12,495 Think that sounds like a fair price for such a high milage?

Difficult to say as there's few around with that mileage. Seems fair, but I have no idea what these engines would be like 100k miles + :?

There was a low mileage 1 for sale a while back with 25k's up for £13500

Advice save a wee bit longer, 80000 with fsh should be ok, but wait a few months and see the prices fall even more with rising roadtax/fuel cost etc !

People will either sell or put up with the shit we get

Yea think you guys are right. I was hoping that you would say they are bullet proof and that's not that bad a mileage so I wouldn't feel stupid going for it. But truth is it's a lot of miles and a better one may come along soon.
I will have to have patience (not my best attribute) Either that or make do with a STI? :(

my mother in law made the comment "i could not have this car as everyone, everyone look at you as you go past so you would always have to have a full face on" saying that they just bought a 911 carrera s2.

it always makes me smile the ones that pretend they are not looking to try to sneak a glance WHY?
I was selling mine a while back but decided what the hell would i replace it with? i thought about a newer scooby but unless it was an RB320 i was not keen on changing. i had thought about a white sti 06 to be a bit different but it is not as cool as a wr1 (sorry dan) and in changing cars i would have lost a couple of grand on mine then paid a couple of grand too much for the sti so whats the point instead i am going to get a 2nd hand freelander/shogun to potter about in and keep the wr1 for the weekends.
i am taking it to the Fast and Modified show on sunday on the stand for Clan Japan. if anyone is around Ingliston, Edinburgh on the 20th i will be about.

Best of luck at the show. How about you get some photos at the show to post on the Forum?

Okay I have another question.

This may be a silly question but I am looking at another WR1 online and in the pictures it has fog light covers with the STI logo on them. I thought all WR1s came with foglights as standard? Will their be foglights behind them?
Also anybody know any history to no. 503?

you can buy the covers to fit over the top. as the can be smashed by stones, and are gas filled. so cost around £400 to replace (a pair) so if it is a wr1 the will be behind

:D
