I OWN NO 85 OF 500, DRIVE IS VERY JERKY, I THINK THE FUEL TANK HAS A HOLE IN IT  , AND THE MISSUS ALWAYS SCREAMS WHEN I HAVE HER IN IT. BUT ITS GREAT FUN AND EVEN PEOPLE WHO DONT LIKE SUBARU SAY ITS COOL. INSURANCE IS DIRT CHEAP FOR SOME REASON AT £40 A MONTH THRU TESCO. (FULLY COMP) :?: IS IT TRUE THAT THE WR1 CAN BE EASILY TUNED TO 400BHP, WHAT WOULD THIS DO TO THE ALREADY REGULAR SERVICE INTERVALS.

 Hi Gareth,
Welcome, just noticed your from Aberdeen, i'm just north of Inverness myself. Used to know Aberdeen really well was there most weekends when my bro was a uni there, also a Dons supporter & used to be a the match all the time but not been for years now.

Everyones pretty friendly on here & there's a lot of banter goes on that might look strong to a outsider but most of the guys down south meet up regularly & know each other well so it's a in jest :D

Welcome Gareth.

Do you use V-power, if not this may be the reason why it's running jerky, as for the hole in the fuel tank.....there all like it

i have seen a few wr1s in aberdeen, mine is going away for a few months now as i dont like all the road salt, and yes i only use v power for fuel, i wondered if it needed new ht leads as sometimes old leads arc on each other, which causes the jerky drive.

Welcome !

PS... What's the point of having a 4WD rocket and taking it off the road exactly when it can make a difference with all the other cars ?

Previous owner may have used shit fuel !

Also a intercooler or turbo hose may be loose !

Cheers i will check it out, previous owner could have used wrong fuel as he lived on isle of lewis, maybe they are not blessed with shell v-power rocket fuel. But it did have engine flush and fuel system cleaner on the last service. It is at its worst when cold or pulling away, i nearly sold it and kept my classic because it is so annoying. Would a loose hose be noisy? as i can hear somthing hissing when i put my foot down???!!

No thats the snake your mrs put on the back seat for scaring her shiteless

Could be a hose come loose, when ours came loose it gadually got worse and eventually started fluttering. It may pay to take it off completlya nd clean the rim to remove any oil residue, when putting it back use some hairspray it helps it stick, seem to remember Marky Mark telling me that !

cheers for your help mr WR 1mpostor (aka number 1 moderator). how did you get 410bhp out of your car? and how many meters do you get to the gallon? ... and what is that light blue thing on the top of your engine?

Defo no v-power on Lewis, Inverness is the most northenly place for v-power, be lucky if they even get super(97) up there. There are Gleaner oils stations that are supplied by shell with 98 north of Inverness but none up that way as far as i know.

Could also try disconecting the battery overnight to reset the ecu now you've been using v-power for a while, the ecu will relearn with the better fuel & improve things.

No worries Gareth.
Different turbo, exhaust, headers, up-pipe, injectors, caik, fmic, inlet duct
Fuel wise it can be as 280/300 on a run or very little as you press the go pedal harder

You mean this

It's been on for 18 months Stu ! Got fed up with every other week of putting the boost pack on to start..... and it still the same

Apparently the alternator is the problem with the battery becoming flat, something to do with the tracker running the batery down and the alternator not being up to spec to boost it back to full life, so hence there was no need to change just recharge the old battery :?

Subaru know its a fault, but try claiming a battery

nice looking under the bonnet!!! do you mean 280-300 miles per tank, as i only get about 150 miles to a tank, i dont thrash the hell out of it and i once tried to get as much as possible out of a tank but no difference, i assumed i just likes a drink.

I have actually acheived 339miles on a tankfull, which is from Bro's house to ours, that was then running at around 380bhp !
But since fmic fitted this has drop to 280/300 on a run, locally can 240, also depends on what mood I'm in

If your only getting 150 per tank try using 3rd, 4th, 5th an 6th
Although a lot on here would say your about right.
