Hello again

Postby presa900 » Sat Oct 21, 2006 12:40 pm

Just a quick message to say hello to all you lucky 1 owners, I will be looking for my own 1 to cherish over the next few weeks so look out for a post on the wanted forum.

I used to own an RB5 WR Sport a few years ago which was an awesome car, I have missed owning a scoob ever since. Really looking forward to getting my hands on another! :D

P.S. I posted a similar message last night when I first joined but logged on this morning to find I wasn't a member and no sign of my previous post and replies?

Thanks for the welcome lads, it seems that the 1's resale value is greatly affected by mileage, I am looking for one that has done no more than 15K miles and that is in mint condition. I have a budget of

Proud Owner of WR1

Postby presa900 » Mon Oct 23, 2006 8:25 pm

I took the plunge today and paid a deposit on my WR1.
I pick it up at the weekend and am counting down the seconds! :woohoo:

Well Lane Turbo Centre had one for sale in mint condition and with only 3,100miles on the clock!!

It also has upgraded AP Racing brakes and a world rally spec bonnet (large mesh intake) all installed by Prodrive when the original owner bought the car from new. Apparently the first owner had it as a fifth car (lucky b*****d!) and obviously didn't have time to drive it as much as his other four, but I'm not going to complain!

My budget has suffered though but it will definately be worth it!!

I am looking for insurance now which is proving very difficult and costly, best quote

sounds like a decent spec, see the recent insurance thread for ideas on who to use. this must surely be one of the lowest mileage ones ? :thumb:

Welcome mate.

Buying a car from Well lane turbo centre - Get it checked out very carefully i am afraid. They are known for one or two rather naughty things with second hand cars.

PLEASE, go onto Scoobynet and do a few searches.

I had a quick search through scoobynet and the internet following marky marks thread, couldn't find any actual bad reports about them, it seems that most have had a good experience dealing with them. If you do know of any examples please PM me with the link so that I can have a look before saturday.

The only link I could find regarding their sales on scoobynet was:

I will try and get a chance to look for you today.

Not heard anything recently but in the past there has been a few question marks.

They are not in the league of Keighley trade centre or anything like that so i would not be too worried, but just be aware.
