Hello from WR1 owner in waiting

Postby WR1 JLD » Tue Aug 29, 2006 8:05 pm

Hi all
I dont yet have a WR1 but have just sold 1 of my houses, so its just a matter of waiting for the estate agent and solisitors to do there stuff now. about 6 - 8 weeks so im told.

Anyway can anyone tell me what to look for when i find one i like?

Cant wait to get behind the wheel of my Dream Car but have never owned an Impreza before so i am still a bit nervous of the 320 bhp.
Although i did have a test drive in a spec-d a couple of weeks ago and did not stop laughing from the time i got in until i got out. i think it was a nervous laugh!!

Cheers
Julian

Welcome !

If you thought the Spec-D gives you a smile... You sure will enjoy owning an STi, WR1 or Spec C.

The 2.0 litre engines are much nicer than the 2.5 if you like a sporty drive (exception made for the 37 or so Type-25's).

You'll get lots of wonderful platitudes on this site, and I'm afraid I'm no different. My WR1 was my first Scoob and I adore it. Don't be surprised when you find yourself getting used to the power quicker than you realise. It's a great car - hope you get your dream sorted soon

True. I am already thinking now the Evo could use a few more horses.

Not sure what I'll do with them though :?

Hi Jp
i have seen about 5 1's on auto trader, and like you i want a low mileage one with no mods. I will be putting on a Dump valve and maybe a Turbo timer, but thats it......Not long to go now before i get 1..

Reckon most of them should have milage say anywhere between 10k - 25k. Any less than all the better.

By zee way watch out for a guy who tried to take me for a mug.....he advertised his WR1 on the net....once you phone him he paints a real rosy pic but then says "oh and i would like you to transfer the funds into my account" before you come and collect the car! .....der...did he think i was born yesturday?....

Shouldn't we guide him to the dark side straight away or you think he should first practice a bit with a scoob before he trades up ?
