Hi , Don't know how it took me so long to join but I have now. My car number is 199 which I ordered in Feb '04 and took delivery of in April of that year---one of the first in Scotland if not the first. Previously I had a P1 which I drove for 2 1/2 years but I find the WR1 a more complete car but I do miss some of the rawness of the P1

the P1 and the WR1 are ---in my humble opinion --completely different beasts. After the run in period in the P1 when you put your foot down for the 1st time nothing comes close to it but the WR1 is faster once you get used to the gearing. The WR1 as you know also feels a much more solid car.
When I was considering replacing the P1 I test drove both the EVO V11 and V111 in FQ versions. It was no contest , both the scoobies are superior. I really don't understand how most articles you read plump for the EVOs although I've yet to drive an MR.
Next car ---hows about a UK release for the S204 but give it more than the reported 320 bhp

Whatchya Buzz

3rd post and fighting talk already - Evo V Scoob  - only kidding, i'm just biased...

...but remember the TOP GEAR quote when they tracked the MR320 and the WR1

"THE EVO IS THE FASTER CAR THEREFORE ITS THE BETTER CAR"

Lets be honest whichever youve got you aint doing bad - you pays your money, you makes your choice.

For the record i'd have the WR1 ahead of the MR 320 & 340 all day long - its the top of the range car, whereas the other 2 arent quite

I've have a head to head DVD with a similar theme and the WR1 wins this one........ so

Hi Buzz  I used to live in Largs, if that's anywhere near you. Now down 'sarf, but I still make it up to Scotland occasionally. It's impossible to beat driving the '1' over Scotland's finer roads. It's probably just as well I'm not there now as I would probably have totalled it by now

Hi Buzz :D

Another Scot here but i'm up in the Highlands near Inverness.
Also got mine in April, take it the Scots were lucky with delivery dates :D
Do you go along to the SIDC trackdays at Knockhill? We're usually down at them.

Welcome Buzz. I also had the P1 before and it took some time to get into the WR1 but love it now. I have no 505, which excluding the 13's makes it possibly the last one. Its also the same one as thrashed by Stig on Top Gear and reviewed in Car Magazine, EVO etc. Its still going strong. Based in Edinburgh so maybe organise a highlands run in the summer if anyone fancies it. Its a fantastic forum.

Welcome Buzz from a another previous P1 owner.
The P1 was a great car, but the guys on here are right about the gearing of the WR - only just getting used to it. That and the seats! The WR does feel more substantial though.

Girlyfriend's parents live in Kirkcudbright. Not too far from you. We don't go too often, but when we do get up there, it would be good to meet up for perhaps a bite to eat.
