Hey people!!

Newbie here just saying hi!

Massive petrol head sadly been away from motors for the last 12 months due to house purchase :(

However work is great at the mo and have got some dosh to get another toy! Happy days!!! Hahaha

Have seen a few tidy wr1's on pistonheads going between 10-12k which is perfect! Had a 400 bhp evo 8 mr a few years back and a 270 brake charged exige last. So im hoping a wr1 would give me some excitement?

I would be very grateful for any advice, known problems etc..... Or even a local p-ride would be great!

Many thanks

J

Hello and welcome mate :D

Just make sure it has the FULL history and all the paperwork is with it - WR1 keyring, WR1 tax disc (numbered), Prodrive paperwork, and every service stamp including the power service :D :D

There are some gems out there, you just need to go looking :) :) :)

Hahahaha!!! I make gates and railings so nothing special lol!!!

Thanks for the comments guys! Much appreciated ;)

So no common faults to worry about?

Also phoned tesco last week for a quote! Wouldn't insure me!!! Aged 28 with 7 years no claims!!! And the last 4 cars i have insured with them was ins group 20. The have a new underwritter and as a result i cant even get insured on a ctr with them! Lol!!! Have to shop around i think.

Regards

J

LOOK at our suggestions on here. Keith Michaels Insurance is definately worth a phone call. He's insured quite a few of us with the WR1's.

Listen out for a clunk at the rear, that will be a sign the rear shockers are going, the only common fault these cars have.

Yes as the guys have said the rear shocks are the only design fault. Listen for knocking at low speed. Even if no noise it is worth changing the set for some lovley BC Coilovers, it changes the car completley! Good luck with your search and look out there some not so good ones around. Great cars though you wont be disappointed. (There even better after a good remapp!! :norty:)
