To be honest just now in this climate there are cheaper ones with lower miles, okay it's a dealer but you could get a real low miler for that cash?

Pity you have a trade in, there are some nice cars in the for sale area of the forum including this low milage for less money!

If you are in no hurry I would wait for a low miler to come up from a reputable garage.

Went to have a look at the WR1 posted above. I have to say they are a really nice looking car. Alot bigger than i expected im 6ft 3 and i felt small in it. It felt alittle frail tho, the doors where very light hehe.

The car was in a good condition inside and out totally standard! I think they over did it on the interior everything looked too polished and slippery. The front fog light was cracked on the passengers side and there was a bit condensation and water inside. They said they might replace it if it wasnt too costly.

I didnt test drive the car. I wanted to discuss the price of the WR1 and my car first and not waste his or my time.

I was offered a decent price for my car Focus ST-3 26,000 miles £8250

But the salesman wouldnt budge on his asking price of £13,500 with 62,000 miles.

Thats a difference of £5250 which i felt was alot.

The car had all its service history done at regular intervals and had 4 previuos owners. It come with full a service and 12 months MOT. From past experience that aint worth the paper its written on but i may be wrong. It also had a few months tax remaining.

They also offered warranty with the car. 1 year for £600 and 2 year for £1000 he wouldnt toss in either as part of the deal. I was told it basically covered everything on the car apart from the tyres and brake pads. Which seemed good but rather pricey as your talking about £14,000 to put the car on the road to have a bit peace of mind. Ive seen alot cheaper and probably better examples for sale here.

Overall i liked the car few too many miles for my liking but if its been looked after i suppose that means little. Im a bit dissapointed he would move on the asking price but he was addiment it wouldnt be there for long and would sell quickly. They have my number so i guess its just a waiting game to see who cracks first. :)

The search continues.....

Hi. I paid £13500 for my one. 18 thousand miles and totally pristine. Fair enough it was private but the one your looking at seems well over the odds. Surely you would sell your st no probs? Number 181 on this forum looks like a good buy. Cameron

Patience is the name of the game, I have no doubt i will find a nice example its jus a matter of time. I might catch one jus before xmas or even early in the new year.

Il keep checking autotrader ect to see what pops up. I have to say tho the styling on the WR1 really impressed me, i cant wait to take one for a test drive hehe

back to watching clips on youtube :(

Hey,

Little to add, but another opinion agreeing with the 2k over comment. Spend a month or two checking here on wr1oc, pistonheads, and autotrader and you might come to the same conclusion. My own process was to "focus" (sorry ;-) , on the here and now. Sell it and be happy with the price, rent a eco hertz car, and then a solid "focus" (sorry ;-) , on a 1 purchase.
