329 no more! :o(

Hi there guys. Joined the other day when i saw someone asking about a wr1 being crashed near kintore, aberdeenshire. Unfortunatly it was me. Car number 329. Only had it 4 months! Came off the roundabout a tad to quick! £10,500 worth of damage apparently! To make matters worse, when i went to jm accident repair to get the mats and so on, some c**t had stolen the plaque from it. Only got £12 for it as they said it was the price of them at the time of manufacture. Hope this helps the guys who were wondering who it was. cheers, Cameron

what is it with these cares and roundabouts, now heard of 3 crashing (inc this one) coming out of a roundabout. i nearly made it 4 last sunday after having a spirited drive out with my mate in his corsa vxr, pushed it hard coming out of roundabout and it got all out of shape, ended up white as a sheep, legs shaking and a girlfriend who wouldrnt talk to me.

dreaded understeer

the front end went into the side crash barrier. didnt look to bad on first inspection but there was damage to the rear of the car also. It must have went right through the car. Interior was unmarked. The air bag didnt even activate! The insurance offered me £11300 but eventually settled at £13600! quite a difference! only had 32500 miles on the clock, so dont think i was being unreasonable. only lost £400, so not to bad. still really gutted about losing the car tho. defo the best car i have ever owned. hopefully get another in the coming months.

I had unexpected understeer coming out of a mini roundabout doing about 20mph due to the camber of the road and gresy road surface... certainly gives you a wake up call.

Speaking of girlfriends not talking to you, I tried to show off to the missus about the handling of the WR1 round a corner shortly after I got the car. I didnt know the road as it was in the lake district and what I thought was your average 90 degree bend gradually tigtened turning into a U-bend. Car gripped considering the speed I took it at but if scared the hell out of both of us. Needless to say she had the hump the remaining 3 days...

U killed my old car arrgghhh gutted, more gutted for you though, i took it all the way around germany inc the nurburg ring and grandprix trak!!,,,,loved the dual map AF put in it!! did it come with my massive service folder?? do you have any pics of the car??
