Yes, a girl has invaded your forumHey guys
Have already slapped a post in the register for my beloved No.43, but I guess I'd better post here as well. Big hello to all, don't be worried 'bout offending me seeing as I'm an aircraft engineer and used to be one woman on a night shift of 200-odd peeps.... I'm used to blokes! Really looking forward to getting to know y'all
Re: Yes, a girl has invaded your forum
hello again, an aicraft engineer sounds cool, well into my planes! ww2 esp Last edited by Bonovox on Fri Aug 14, 2009 11:22 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Both realy , goes back to my youth and being into models. but I would have loved to get a job as an aviation archaeologist.
That would be extremely cool, seeing as I love 1) my job and 2) archaeology. I am truly lucky, given that I have an excellent job and I'm cleared to fly military aircraft (just Hawk so far). Nothing compares to that acceleration down the runway
Holy shit you can fly too! I flew a cessna once The accelaration from a hawk must be amazing! Becoming a bit clearer why you drive a WR1 now Im off to my ps3 my mates are calling me to join a game of COD4. catch you later, this is an ace forum and a realy nice helpfull group of guys (mainly there is at least one other woman). Keep in touch I wana hear more about your flying!!
Awwwww Bless we have just witnessed love begin, what a truly beautiful thing!!!

Good to have a girl on board
When it comes to flying i fooking hate it, I need valium to get on a plane Focus ST's rule!!!
F15 Eagle and F18 Hornet are my favourite warplanes,I have seen the Lockheed SR71 aka the BLACKBIRD fly a few times at airshows and that was amazing.
Heaven can wait....I'm playing with my scooby.
The Blackbird must be some sight! I fancy going to the leuchers air show in September, going to be a Typhoon flying and also a Vulcan Bomber! I went here when I was in Florida, what a collection! http://www.fantasyofflight.com/collection.htm
Hey Bono!
Didn't know you were into your planes, could've chatted for hours more at the NE show! Have to give you a shout when I'm stuck in ABZ next with the BP Offshore rescue machine - if SAR 'helos' aren't too boring for you!! Used to watch the USAF Blackbirds down in East Anglia when I were a lad - very impressive. And a big WELCOME to you too kate3sr Are you in the 'mob' or working for a living?
Think I took up enough of your time wittering on about our Wr1s Dont know that much on the helicopter front what type is the SAR chopper? The only chopper I have ever been on was a Sikorsky S61 ( i think ) on a pleasure flight from Dyce when they used them for the rigs.
Welcome Kate, there are a few girlies on the forum all welcome too !
2007 BMW M5
2004 Petter Solberg STi
It's a search and rescue 'Super Puma' variant Bono purchased to support BPs' offshore rescue Jigsaw project - been running since 2006. Similar to the ones that 'hump and dump' to the rigs - but with lots of extra rescue kit.
And of course it comes in gloss black with yellow racing stripes... I used to fly RAF rescue Sea Kings (practically S61s) for many years - so could 'wax lyrical' about military stuff for hours, and hours........... Wizard Prang!
Sounds like quite a machine! What a cool job you have, never knew you were a flyboy, you will have to work on your handlebar moustache old bean Good job we never got onto the subject of aircraft at the AECC as that would have been me for the rest of the day. By the way ever read Chickenhawk, great book about a Huey pilot in Vietnam worth a read esp if you are into choppers!
Welcome kate... you'll find there are a few other ladies on here, albeit slightly bearded - Bro and Mega
[Just incase this gets lost in translation, I am not slandering you, I know people can be sensitive to these harsh words.]
cheers guys... I do love my '1 very much - how did I manage all these years without?
Answer to the earlier question - I'm civvy, so I get to 'work' for my money (after a fashion). A lot of it is very boring... but the good bits make up for that
craziness.. a girl comes along and everyone says hi... most people just get one or two saying hi.. ROFL.. is there something im missing?
Pics??
Must admit it's the most welcomes av seen anyone get Focus ST's rule!!!
I'm taking all this as a compliment
I'll try & put some pics up tomorrow, I've only just got back from Jap North show at Wigan and I'm dead on my feet
Of you or the car? Member 257
What sort of a question is that to ask? I mean if she wants to drape herself over he car that is her decision, she doesnt need posts like yours to egg her on
Welcome kate3sr Just thought I'd add to your endless list of fans Dunno how I coped all these years without a 1, had mine a week and not had a chance to upload my pics yet!! Pete
