How sad

Postby POESY » Tue May 22, 2007 9:04 am

To fit a new front splitter ive had to rmove the front bumper. No biggie there but I fear ive got a little carried away now

With the splitter off the bumper itself has been stipped and sent to the painters to get rid of the stonechips.

New mesh has been ordered to replace the existing when the bumper goes back together.

The intercooler has been removed to be sprayed...
...and now im cleaning the ally boost pipes - which are behind the bumper - you dont even see them !!!

How far do you guys and girls go, cos im worried I may need to see someone about this soon

It is addictive.... my dream is to have a high roof garage so I can have a ramp installed so I can clean under the car better!!

The cleaning you talk of Marky Mark does too. You have lots in common and should maybe get together to trade tips?

I got myself some stands that are approx 20 or 25cm high. I drive the car up them even when I just wash it and get underneath regularly to clean.

Actually, I'd need pooster's advice again on how to polish the exhaust.

Have you ever considered actually digging a pit in your garage, Stu ? If you can't get the car to go up, sure you can go down.

You just have to make sure the pit can be closed with a metal 'blind' (like a gragare door that lays down horizontally) in order to avoid any accidents with your little boy diving into the pit.

Mark, what where those fancy clips you use for the boost pipes/hoses. My current ones look a little rusty and replacements may be a good idea. Dont want another bruntingthorpe scenario. That would drive me :x

Thanks, poster !

PS: I think Bro damaging his 1 by driving it into a pit is way not comparable with a kid falling into it.

Actually, I went to do an oilchange on a car in the US yesterday and what they had was a series of hooks all along the top of the pit. They put a strong net over the pit that way hence avoiding customers accidentally falling into it.
