Some of the roads near us have just been resurfaced and i have some small droplets of tar on the lower part of my front doors. Seams 20mph wasnt slow enough. What is good for getting tar off please

Top quality wax allows the tar to jet and sponge off.
If tar is still present then good old fashioned polish is the way forward as it is less harsh IMHO than off the shelf specific tar removers....

Excellent stuff.
Give you car a thorough polish and then apply the wax. I would personally apply 3 or four coats of the wax and then you will REALLY see the difference when it comes to washing the car in the future. It is an expensive treat but one that I have not regretted.

Petrol is very good at removing tar spots. It might possibly remove a little wax but that wont matter if you are going to wax it afterwards.

Petrol is not a good idea. It is probably the most efficient tar remover, but it also strips any wax on the car and will even desolve some of the coating of the paint. Defo a Try a gentle tar remover. Assume Autoglym is good. I got Zymol Strick on order for when I am in US next week. As per Bro's suggestion, a good wax is the best protection afterwards. I'll put a few pics up of how the Merc and Scoob sometimes looked during winter. Simple spray off and it's all gone. When using Zymol, don't forget to buff the thing again after a few hours. The wax needs to cure completely. If you don't, it remains fairly 'soft' (and will disappear more easily) plus it will leave fat-marks on the paint when you touch it (which is the problem Spike had on his Porker).

Not just a big hooter and ugly mush Make sure you clean off properly as its quite "strong" and wax where used afterwards as it strips the protective wax coating off.
