Evo ready for winter !

Postby The Swede » Sun Oct 01, 2006 8:09 pm

Just finished giving the Evo its pre-winter clean/protection.

- 2 layers of Zymol "Destiny" (http://www.zymol.com/destiny2.htm)
- lower parts (bumpers, sills, alloys) have been protected with an additional layer of Turtle Wax Gloss Guard (which should protect the wax layer against chemical substances too)
- Tyres have been treated with Turtle Wax - Platinum Series Revitalising Tyre Dressing
(don't ask me why I did that as the wintertyres probably will have to go on in two weeks :? . Call it petrolhead vanity)

Took me best part of the day.

Must admit to one 'sad' act... I Zymoled the exhaust...

:lol2:

True.

Part of it is because there are actually differences in the colour. Reason being the different materials that are sitting under the paint. Bits of the car are in aluminium, some are in plastic, other in steel.

The car being polished does also show, under certain angles, these light differences.

When are you showing us the 1mposter being Zymoled ?

Can someone tell me why that bloody exhaust looks shite again ???

I wash it every week and it needs polishing again.

Wax melting off ?

The funny thing is that they do't grit roads or anything.

Poster, how do you keep your pipe so clean ??

The exhaust seems to loose its shine when it gets wet, so I always make sure I leather the exhaust in the same way as the rest of the car when washing. That way it seems to keep the shinny, polished look for longer.

This looks like cool stuff, Martin !

Poesy, you think the pipe loses its shine then also every time I drive in the rain ?

Or just when I wash the car ?

Never thought indeed that it wasn't sufficient to just 'wash' the pipe, but that I also needed to dry it :?
