There are no easy ways to be honest Joe

When I had the punctures repaired last week, they sprayed some acidic wheel cleaner on, them washed off with soapy water and rinsed
Never seen wheels become clean so easily but i don't like using these type of wheel cleaners, but it was a easy way of cleaning

I try and get an old sponge in behind the spokes each time I wash the car and usually remove the wheels once a year to thoroughly clean. Dont use any acid or whatever on them though - elbow grease for me too.

Also, as 1mposter mentioned, if for some reason a wheel has to come off, puncture, replace pads, etc then the opportunity is always taken to have a good spruce up.

Carplan - Wonder Wheels "Super Allow Wheel Cleaner" seems to work very well.

Comes with a brush which really allows you to get into those small corners.

The Zymol wheel cleaner is pretty good too, even a tad better than the Carplan stuff (as it's a 'gel' and not a liquid, it doesn't run off the rim straight away). It is quite a bit more expensive though.

With wheels like on the WR1, you can also use and old dishwashing brush to wash the inside of the rims without removing the wheels.

Finally, it does pay to apply a good wax on your wheels as it's easier to clean them afterwards. You don't need to buy special wheel wax. Just a good Carnauba wax or so will do.

i use the Autoglym clean wheels & never had any problems
The brush they do is spot on as well
I just do one at a time then use sponge and then rinse off dry off later & a bit of the Autoglym tyre dressing occasionally ( on the tyres)
