Undercar cleaning...

Postby MaverickUK82 » Sat May 07, 2011 1:35 pm

Is there a way of cleaning the underside of a car?

I know the local automated car wash machine will do the underside, but not on it's own - you have to have all the other brushes as well as the underside one and I'd rather grit blast my WR1 that run it through one of those automated washes, it'd probably scratch less.

I don't want to spend a fortune either.

jack it up, put it on stands and jet wash the bugger yourself.

the front end is pretty much covered up by plastic trim and you can get to the rear easily enough anyhow.

just be careful not to take off the body seal...but if any is lose then scrape it off and get a can of the sprayable stuff to tidy it all up again.

Had MOT today - went straight through, but got to have a look underneath and it was hummin'. Think I want to give it a good clean.

Might invest in one of those angled lances for my Karcher...

Cheers for the info.
