Number plate screws...

Postby MaverickUK82 » Tue Jul 27, 2010 11:55 am

I obtained an unsightly crack in my front number plate, obviously from a stone or something.

Anyways, I bought a new one and decided to fit it.

The original plate was fitted with white two plasticy\rubbery screws. Of course they both snapped when removing the plate leaving the buggers stuck in the slots...

Anyone know what these screws are or how I can get them out?

I've had to stick the new one on, although, the sticky pads are really thick and makes the plate stick out as if it's attached to the end of a broomstick (maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration, but annoying none-the-less).

Drill them out using a progressively larger drill size each time... start with 0.5mm and work larger until you can get something inside the hole and unscrew from the middle (if possible)if you go too large with the drill bit, you'll have to re-thread the hole worst case. Just take your time.
